Sustainability
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights, we are dedicated to creating a more sustainable future by embedding sustainability at the core of everything we do – from hotel operations to guest experiences. As part of the Accor Group, we are proud to have achieved Green Globe Platinum Certification in 2025, the highest distinction awarded under this globally respected sustainable tourism standard.
Driving Change Through Accor’s Hosting Change Roadmap
We are actively driving change through Hosting Change, Accor’s sustainability roadmap for 2026–2030, structured around four strategic pillars that guide every aspect of our hotel journey:
- Ensure Future-Proof Places – Advancing decarbonization, resource efficiency, and more resilient, responsible sourcing across our operations.
- Empower All Talent – Championing human rights, safe and fair working environments, training, and inclusion for our Heartists.
- Elevate the Guest Experience – Delivering accessible, eco-certified stays and more sustainable food and beverage offerings.
- Engage with Broader Ecosystems – Strengthening our impact through biodiversity efforts, responsible supplier engagement, and community support.
As part of the Accor Group, we remain committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement, with a continued focus on absolute reductions in greenhouse gas emissions across our operations.
Tools Driving Our Sustainable Strategy Forward
To ensure continuous progress, we utilize Gaïa², Accor’s advanced online reporting tool. This platform allows us to monitor and measure key sustainability metrics, including:
- Energy efficiency
- Water conservation
- Waste management
- Carbon footprint reduction
By leveraging data-driven insights, we optimize sustainability initiatives, reduce operational costs, and align with stakeholder expectations.
Certified for Excellence in Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainability has been recognized through Green Globe Certification, a globally respected standard for sustainable tourism. In 2025, we achieved Platinum Certification, the highest tier of this standard; a testament to our continuous efforts in environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
We are also proud, active participants in Dubai Sustainable Tourism’s (DST) Green Stamp program, an initiative recognizing hotels across Dubai for strong environmental performance and sustainable operational practices.
At Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights, we believe in creating a greener tomorrow; one stay at a time.
